The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals and all are interconnected and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we have to achieve them all by 2030. The 17 SDGs are integrated—that is, they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability.
The goals are broad based and interdependent. The 17 sustainable development goals each have a list of targets which are measured with indicators. In an effort to make the SDGs successful, data on the 17 goals has been made available in an easily-understood form. A variety of tools exist to track and visualize progress towards the goals. In this regard, NestLives initiated creative and systematic work undertaken to increase the stock of knowledge including knowledge of humans, culture and society and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise new applications with various aspect of Crossdisciplinary, multidisciplinary interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary etc.,
Intradisciplinary: Working within a single discipline.
Crossdisciplinary: Viewing one discipline from the perspective of another.
Multidisciplinary: People from different disciplines working together, each drawing on their disciplinary knowledge.
Interdisciplinary: Integrating knowledge and methods from different disciplines, using a real synthesis of approaches.
Transdisciplinary: Creating a unity of intellectual frameworks beyond the disciplinary perspectives.
The organisation supports a number of visits of prominent scholars to the Universities for Technical Research and Management to support the research activities of the members.
NestLives and Academic Institution interacts closely with the industries, so that the students can identify and take up 'industry-relevant' technical problems for research to bridge the gap between the academia and industry.
NestLives offers research & consultancy services to industries such as Prototype development, Technology Development, Engineering Design & Analysis, Laboratory/Field Testing, Software Development etc.,
Partnership in Research Projects with External Support
The NestLives Research and Development (NRD) Centre has been a sponsor to the Scholar and inventors of new ideas and initiatives that have been achieved by them. Partial research funding has been provided for faculty members’ research that resulted in quality publications. The Centre has provided support for the planning and preparations of a conference series , Patent, indexed publications of research articles. The organisation main objective is to act as a research incubator and a catalytic agent to facilitate research productivity. NRD innovations are community-led solutions for sustainability. They can offer promising new ideas and practices, but often struggle to scale up and spread beyond small niches. From a series of research projects on grassroots innovations, including sustainable energy and complementary currencies, based in India. Our research aims to better understand how these innovations develop and grow, and how they can be harnessed to meet sustainability policy objectives.
